(More customer reviews)I bought this product with the intent of using it to change spark plugs on my 2000 Dodge Viper GTS coupe. With aftermarket exhaust headers and a very compact engine bay, I thought that the path of least resistance would need to be a very "flexible" path.
The day these arrived I ran out to the garage. Stuck a socket on one end, the other onto my ratchet, and easily found the back-side of a spark plug. I twisted the ratchet and watched in sadness as the extension coiled uselessly against my exhaust.
These things are ONLY good for removing VERY loose nuts/bolts (probably a max of 30lb-ft torqued) or for starting a nut/bolt in a tight area. You'll have to follow with a solid or universal socket for final tightening. The only reason these got two stars was because I was able to use them to replace an exhaust bracket beneath the Viper that did not need excessive tightening force. Also, they're cheaper than buying ONE flexible extension from the Mac/Matco/SnapOn guys.
Lastly, note that these extensions came in nothing more than a padded zip-lock bag. No case, no sorting method for your tool box. Read: "Cheap."
In the end, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
