(More customer reviews)I used this template using two "C" clamps and the edge of my work bench. A third C-clamp was needed to secure the work-piece. The work-piece must be secured very well to keep it from moving under the template. I was able to get perfectly spaced box-joints using 3/4" soft pine. I will need to purchase a better spiral bit and to use harder wood to get cleaner cuts. The aluminum template worked well. I would like it better if the "finger" ends were rounded rater than square. No special jig is required to use this template. I'll probably purchase the 3/8" and 1/2" templates.

(More customer reviews)I was excited when I saw this product advertised, and I was equally horrified the first time I used it. I have very old glazing and this product simply would not work. I managed to destroy the first window I tried it on and that was it. There is really no way to effectively practice using this thing, so good luck for you first-timers. I returned mine.
