It automatically checks the condition and type of battery and adjusts the charging cycle accordingly. These are very well made; a quality case and good clamps and cables. They LED displays are eimple to interpret (just read the instructions!). It's also gret thtat it can charge such a range of battery types from Gel Cells to standard Lead Acid. Considering it's power the case is not very large and you can easily store this in a closet or average shop shelf.
