Proxxon 28620 Flexishaft Micromot 110/ P with 6 Micromot Collets Review

Proxxon 28620 Flexishaft Micromot 110/ P with 6 Micromot Collets
Average Reviews:

All I can suggest is that you do not buy this product. I purchased this for use with the Proxxon 38481 IB/E Professional Rotary Tool, which is great. The tool runs smooth and does not get hot, even when in use for hours. The flexishaft, however when using this flex shaft, it rattled, vibrated, and heated up within a minute. Even with the most delicate work, I would rather use the tool without.

Proxxon Flexishaft MICROMOT 110/P - Converts your Proxxon Rotary Tool into a Flexible Shaft Machine - industrial quality Flexishaft - extremely flexible. It is easily to be attached to any of our rotary tools, either to Proxxon's Precision Rotary Tool FBS 115/E or the Professional Rotary Tool IB/E or our lightweight Rotary Tools MICROMOT 50 and 50/E in pen style design, which will hold the flexishaft's coupling piece with the collet size 7/64'' (3.0 mm).

Hitachi DB3DL 3.6-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Screwdriver Review

Hitachi DB3DL 3.6-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Screwdriver
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I wanted a smaller power driver than my 7.2 volt Dewalt, which is too heavy and bulky to just stash in a tool belt. My choice was between the Hitachi DB3DL and the Bosch PS20-2 Litheon 10.8 Volt Lithium Ion Pocket Driver With 2 Batteries. Both are excellent, so which should you choose? Ideally, you should handle both.
Weight: The Bosch is about twice as heavy. I hardly notice the Hitachi in a pocket or tool belt.
Power: The Hitachi is a light-mid duty tool. It's surprisingly powerful, but the extra voltage in the Bosch enables it to rival larger drill-drivers in all but the most demanding situations.
Versatility: I like the hinged configuration of the Hitachi, enabling you to use it in a straight or pistol-grip configuration. The Bosch is pistol-grip only.
Convenience: The Bosch has a separate reversing switch like the ones found on nearly all power drills. (I frequently curse these switches since I frequently press them by accident and forget to press them when I should.) I prefer the rocker switch on the Hitachi, which is very intuitive and lets me reverse in a single operation. When doing electrical work, it's nice to be able to reverse simply by moving my finger on the trigger.
The Bosch will likely appeal to you if you're looking for something like a conventional drill-driver in a smaller, lighter package without sacrificing too much power. I own 3 Bosch routers and 2 sanders, so I can honestly say that I love Bosch tools. The quality is great. So why didn't I buy the Bosch PS20-2?
I chose the Hitachi because of it's very light weight, comfort, and convenience. Since my purchase, I've picked up the Bosch a few times to see if I made the right choice. Every time, my answer is "Yes." Unless you really need the 10.8 volt torque, you'll should be very happy with the Hitachi.
The only improvement I'd like is a clip for a bit or two, but that would probabably make the tool fatter. In this case, slim is better.

With a compact design and superior power-to-weight ratio, the Hitachi DB3DL 3.6-volt lithium-ion screwdriver is ideal for electricians, installers, and woodworkers. Perfect for a variety of fastening applications, this screwdriver converts easily from straight grip to pistol grip, making it great for tough-to-reach places. This screwdriver is backed by a lifetime warranty and features lithium-ion batteries that boast three times the runtime of traditional batteries, yet weigh 50 percent less.
Superior Power-to-Weight RatioOffering 44 inch/pounds of torque in a body that weighs less than one pound, the DB3DL has a better power-to-weight ratio than the competition. And with a two-speed transmission that offers maximum no-load speeds of either 200 or 600 RPM, this screwdriver fastens and pre-drills wood, mild steel, aluminum, and more.

Additionally, the DB3DL's 21-stage clutch provides both high torque and precision driving. A reversing trigger switch lets you quickly choose from 0-600 RPM for the job at hand.

Chock-Full of User-Friendly FeaturesIn addition to its powerful motor, the DB3DL has a host of features that help you get the job done with comfort and convenience. To start, this screwdriver features a non-slip elastomer-grip handle that makes long jobs more comfortable. The handle is adjustable to two positions, allowing for a choice of straight-grip or pistol-grip operation.

For added convenience, the DB3DL includes a 1/4-inch quick-change hex chuck with bit lock for fast and easy bit changes. An added bonus, an integrated LED work light helps illuminate dark work areas.

Designed to reach places that other cordless screwdrivers just can't, the Hitachi DB3DL is compact and lightweight, measuring 9.75 inches and weighing just 0.9 pounds.

HXP Lithium-Ion Batteries Last 3X Longer and Weigh 50% LessThe DB3DL owes its light weight to two HXP lithium-ion batteries. These 1.5 Ah batteries weigh half of what traditional NiCd or NiMH batteries weigh--in fact, tools featuring HXP batteries are on average one pound lighter than tools using traditional batteries.

Additionally, HXP batteries last three times longer than their competition--these batteries will last approximately 500 charges before needing to be replaced. Overall, less frequent battery charges and longer battery life mean reduced operation costs for you.

The DB3DL's charger will power the tool's batteries in just 30 minutes and features a built-in Cool Air Flow system to maintain optimal charging temperature.

Every Hitachi cordless power tool is designed to the highest standards and rigorously tested for both performance and durability. Like all HXP lithium-ion cordless tools, the DB3DL comes with a lifetime lithium-ion tool warranty, which protects against possible defects in materials and workmanship. Also, the tool's batteries come with a two-year warranty and the charger comes with a one-year warranty.

Anytime Tools 5 DIAMOND DUST HOLE SAW for TILE GLASS MARBLE Review

Anytime Tools 5 DIAMOND DUST HOLE SAW for TILE GLASS MARBLE
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I ordered these hole saws because I wanted to convert a Wine bottle into a lamp.
Unlike the other reviewers I used a wood clamp to hold the bottle on my Drill press. It is recommended to use them at 300 RPM, but my drill press only goes down to 500. I used a small water spritster to wet the area and occasionally add water to the cut. The hole saw worked well in this application.
The problem with using a hole saw without an Arbor is that it will "Wander" and not make a clean initial cut. Once the hole is started it is fine. That is why I used the clamp and drill press. I also wanted to save all of the labels on the bottle, so I minimized the amount of water used. I did also cover the labels with shrink wrap and masking tape to protect them from accidental water damage.

Proxxon 28606 MICROMOT Drill Stand MB 140/ S Review

Proxxon 28606 MICROMOT Drill Stand MB 140/ S
Average Reviews:

Those of us who have become increasingly peevish about the continuing slide in quality of Dremel tools, and have resisted blowing big bucks for dental quality RAM's, etc., should defect immediately to Proxxon. Comparing this stand to Dremel's is as a tool to a toy. The previous reviewer's reference to the collar clamp handle (visible to the left side in the pic) is correct-- a goofy piece of engineering, but only a minor annoyance.
I've become immediately attached to the whole Micromot 12 volt system-- my Dremel stuff seems crude by comparison. Get yourslf a model 50 Handpiece, the beefier power unit, and you can do your own root canal!!

It provides the steadiness when needed and turns your rotary tool into a mini drill press, e.g. for drilling very fine holes. The drill stand even makes your rotary tool more versatile as it holds it horizontally, too, so that you can use it like a bench grinder. The drill stand keeps the tool lined up and allows you to control it easily with one hand. NOTE: Rotary Tool and Vice Clamp in picture not included. See details.

Proxxon 38481 IB/E Professional Rotary Tool Review

Proxxon 38481 IB/E Professional Rotary Tool
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought the Proxxon instead of the Dremel. The Proxxon is very quiet compared to the Dremel which is screaming loud at high RPM. The Proxxon appears to be extremely rigidly built unlike the Dremel. It weights about a pound and has about the dimensions of the 300 Series Dremel. You can change the speed from 5k to 20k RPM and the motor is wave controlled to maintain its speed under load - unlike the Dremel which slows down under load. It comes with a set of drills and milling bits as well as cutting wheels. I also bought the drill stand MB 140/S and vice MS 4. The bits appear to be well priced. Notice that Amazon sells many of the bits in kits (as noted in the product descriptions) while most other places sell just a single package of the bits. Dremel bits should fit as well but I did not try this. I am intending to use it for regular repair jobs around the house. The only bad thing I noticed is that the case does not keep things in place when you carry it and you better put the bits in a little baggy instead of the included bit holder. I bought the Proxxon because this unit is regularly used for industrial applications over many hundred of hours while many people reported that they fried several Dremel units at simple jobs like cutting into dry wall.
A small rotary tools is extremely versatile and you can do a lot of things with it like drilling, grinding, sanding, polishing, milling, cutting (sawing), engraving, or routing in many materials like ferrous metals, precious metals, stone, glass, plastic, or wood. There is a bit for every material and job. Most bit kits are useless as they include a lot of cheap tools such as sanding disks. Buy the right bit for the right application. You do not need many different bits. Cheap bits wear out immidiately and are a waste of money. You do not have to buy Proxxon bits - you can use any bits with fits the collier sizes and works with the rotation speed but Proxxon bits are reasonably priced and are of very high precision and quality.
