(More customer reviews)As with most Proxxon tools it is well made and performs as advertised. Its collet, which cannot be changed, holds only one diameter shaft. This limitation, along with the inconvenience of a power cord causes me to only use this tool for a few applications.

The kit comes with the tried and tested high speed engraving tool GG 12 (12-18V, 20,000 rpm, fitted in a ball bearing assembly) powered by the included AC adapter (12V, 0.5A), patterns and instruction booklet as well as all necessary bits: 1 each 1/32" and 5/64" (1.0 and 1.8 mm) diamond grinding bits with spherical head for engraving and line work as well as 1 each silicon carbide grinding bits in both conical and bullet shape for frosting glass. High Speed Mini Miter/Cut-Off Saw Review

(More customer reviews)Okay little saw for the price, but you get what you pay for. You can't see what you're cutting very well, and the adjustment screw didn't stay tight, causing errors in the cutting angle. Yes, it's faster than cutting by hand, but not as accurate. Best use: flat cuts.

Ek Success Inscriblio Engraving Tool Review

(More customer reviews)I was exposed to the Inscriblio while working at a craft store. I used it to etch names onto glass. It was easy to learn how to use and I love the versatility. You can etch into glass, rock, metal, wood and more. You do need to practice a bit to get a feel for it since it moves smoother in certain directions. Keep in mind that it is a tool and as with any new tool you will have to learn how to use it, learn the precautions to take(eye protection for example) and learn what its limits are. I have used it to inscribe into glass, rock and metal. Each of those materials are a bit different so again I would suggest you practice first. Take your time when using the tool; you'll find the proper speed necessary to etch the surface you're working with.
Although I have emphasized practice I still would recommend this tool for pretty much anyone. It is easy to use and you should be quick to learn it. Depending on how precise you want to be will determine how much you should practice.
A tip for when working with a flat surface like glass: print out the text you want to inscribe and keep in mind that thin lettering will be harder to work with. Tape the paper onto the surface and then slowly go over the paper and then into the glass.

(More customer reviews)I had the old style Dremel which was red and black with a ni-cad battery. After 10 years of use I decided to buy something else rather than buy another replacement battery for it. The new dremels use better battery technology but I don't know what they were thinking about when it comes to ergonomics. All the new dremels have funky shapes and don't feel comfortable in my hand.
So I was excited when I found this dremel-clone in a cool looking neon green. It had smooth sides and looked like it would be nice to work with. I paid $52 (including tax) at our local Meijer store. I thought it was a nice touch to have so many accessories included at such a low price.
The problem came in with durability. The gears striped out within the first 3 minutes of use, and I was cutting a soft material. I used my old dremel to cut through hardened steel, and this thing crapped out cutting drywall on it's first use. Totally ground the gears out of it. I might have just got a defective unit, or maybe they all completely suck. I wasn't willing to try another unit, so I returned it for a refund.
The good news. After I purchased this lime (I would call it a lemon, but it's green, lol) Dremel came out with a new model. I believe it is called the 8200. It is similar to the old style without all the crazy contours on the side. I decided to pick one up at my local Menards. Just for comparison sake I cut some scrap drywall for 20 minutes straight. No problems whatsoever. Not only that, it made the cuts much more easily than this Kawasaki tool. I really hate calling it a tool, since it is more of a decoration.
I love the green Ryobi series of tools, I wish they made a rotaty tool.

Alum Oxide Grind Stone,Cylindrical Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this bit along with the 8175 to grind out several brass strikeplates on some newly installed doors. Like the 8175 bit the 8153 did a great job grinding brass. I ended up using this one to square out the corners of the grinded notch because the 8175 was just too big. I would not reccomend this bit for much larger work because of its size (its just too small. But for deburring it is great.

When combined with the Dremel polish they do a swift job at cleaning and polishing off stains and stubborn tarnish without scratching and wear of the object. My only complaint which I have with all felt polishing pads is that they wear out too quickly for me. But, I guess that's why they sell six at a time.

Dremel 300-1/24 300 Series Variable-Speed Rotary Tool Kit Review

(More customer reviews)This tool works as expected, flawlessly. I picked up two high speed cutters for use on a custom air filter backplate. Speed variability seems like it would fit anyone's needs. The cord on it was around 3-4' long. The bits with it are nice, but if you are looking for something in particular you can probably find a more suitable one. Only complaint is that it doesn't always seem to turn on at the lowest setting. This isn't really a problem since you can turn it on higher and slow it down. I am not sure if I got one with a finicky switch or not. Regardless I would buy again.
Got it from a local dealer because I didn't want to wait for shipment, however amazon was cheaper.
