Versa-Tool DB10C 1-3/8-Inch Precision Japan Universal Oscillating Saw Blade For Dremel Multi-Max, 10 Pack Review

These blades differ from other wood blades in their bigger and longer teeth. However, it does not mean that they cut faster or last longer. I bought a set off eBay to cut drywall and baseboard. Comparing these blades with Dremel wood blades, the advantage is that they have a wider cutting width. But the uneven teeth on the Japanese blades have several disadvantages. First they remove more materials and create more dusts. Second, the cut surface is less smooth. Third, it is more difficult to slice off a thin piece if your first cut is not straight enough. Fourth, it is more difficult to precisely insert the blade at cut line in a plunge cut. The Japanese blades like to "walk" a little. I don't see many applications where "Japanese blades" can do a better job or faster job in the context of multi-function tool.

Dremel MM900 Multi-Max Diamond Paper Review

Dremel MM900 Multi-Max Diamond Paper
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I used this paper to remove old thinset. While it was useful for getting into tight corners, the reality is that the Dremel Multi tool is not well suited for tasks that require heavy pressure; it depends more on the high-speed motion to do its work. The diamond paper holds up well and is long lasting, but without pressure on the material to be removed, its effectiveness is limited.

Part of the Dremel brand's innovative Multi-Max oscillating tool and accessories line, the Dremel MM900 Multi-Max Diamond Paper allows the Multi-Max to be used for grinding cement, plaster, or thin-set mortar. Ideal for renovation enthusiasts, hobbyists, crafters, and do-it-yourselfers, this paper requires the MM11 hook and loop pad accessory (not included), and it gives you greater flexibility and sanding power when you need it most.
(Note: The Dremel MM900 Diamond Paper is compatible with--but sold separately from--the Dremel Multi-Max tool .)
Grinds, Shapes, and Smoothes Heavy-Duty MaterialDesigned to expand the capabilities of your Multi-Max oscillating tool and to work quickly and efficiently with minimal user effort, this 60-grit paper uses the hardness of real diamonds to tackle light to heavy sanding jobs. It's best suited for rough grinding, shaping, and smoothing of masonry, stone, cement, and mortar. It also properly prepares a floor or wall surface for tile replacement, leaving behind smooth, even results.
Flexible, User-Friendly OperationWhether you're renovating a bathroom or kitchen, smoothing a cement garden bench, or crafting stone jewelry, the MM900 offers user-friendly operation that minimizes stress on your hand or wrist. To use, attach the MM11 hook and loop pad accessory (not included) to your Dremel Multi-Max tool, attach the MM900 hook and loop Diamond Paper, then select the proper speed depending on how quickly you wish to remove material. Avoid applying excess pressure--let the tool and the paper do all the work.
Tips for Even Wear and Longer LifeThe entire surface of the MM900 diamond grit paper can be used to complete your sanding jobs. Finish corners using either the tip or edge of the paper. Occasionally rotate the paper during use to distribute the wear on the accessory and backing pad surface; periodic rotation will also help ensure longer life.

This thing is great! I used it to trim back some PVC pipe sticking out of the wall, notch a 2x4, cope a piece of molding and trim off some protruding nails that hit concrete behind the stud. It chewed through each job without hesitation and no binding. This is an excellent addition to my Dremel tool kit.

Dremel 8300-01 12-Volt Cordless Multi-Max Oscillating Kit Review

Dremel 8300-01 12-Volt Cordless Multi-Max Oscillating Kit

After seeing a demonstration of a $19k oscillating saw used in orthopedic surgery, I thought it would be useful to have a saw capable of making plunge cuts for [non-surgical] jobs around the house and in my home shop. Fortunately, Dremel recently introduced this oscillating saw that shares some design elements and the 12v lithium battery with my Dremel 8200 rotary tool. With the ability to cut, sand and scrape, the Dremel 8300 is a very versatile tool that offers both portability and power. I have been extremely satisfied with my purchase.
After being favorably impressed with my Dremel 8200, I was eager to see what other cordless tools made by Dremel that I could use. Like the Dremel 8200 rotary saw, the Dremel 8300 oscillating saw is very solidly constructed - much more rugged than the Dremel 10.8v rotary tool. Also, owning both the 8200 and 8300 gives the owner the benefit of three interchangeable batteries (two from the 8300 oscillating saw) and two chargers.
My initial tests left me impressed with the combination of the power of the Dremel 8300 along with the dexterity it avails the user. In my initial use of the Dremel 8300, I made plunge cuts into soft wood and high density fiberboard without breaking sweat. In both cases, the saw was highly controllable. The plunge cuts produced were orthogonal. By contrast, rotary saws have the ability to make shallow, semispherical plunge cuts that are far less useful. The Dremel 8300 manual suggests the side-to-side excursion of the saw blade is only three (3) degrees. Such a narrow excursion produces cuts that are almost perfectly rectangular.
My sanding tests demonstrated that tool is powerful, while at the same time, allows for great attention to detail. The cylindrical grip combined with a Reuleaux-triangle-shaped sanding pad gives the user precise control over the effective sanding area. It is much easier to use than than even the smallest palm oscillating saw. The triangular adning pad gives the user the ability to sand relatively tight corners. Interestingly, the design of the Dremel 8300 prevents the user's hand from the vibratory discomfort and numbness often experienced with traditional sanders.
The 8300 oscillating saw and 8200 rotary tool are nice pair for any shop. The build quality, ergonomics and versatility are superb. Having used the smaller Dremel 10.8v rotary tools in the past, I can say that both the 8200 and 8300 are in a different class with their ruggedness and power. Once again, Dremel has made a first class product.Pros
Versatile - cut, sand, scrape with one tool
Batteries interchangeable with other Dremel 12v tools
Nice case included
Rugged construction
Comfort - reduced numbness
Cons
Few accessories included

Nicely priced combination of cutting blades, but the packaging was excess; thought it was nice, but a waste of resources, especially when most buyers would take the blades and store in the tool's carrying case that already has slots for these accessories and throw away this packaging. A simple cardboard box would have been sufficient and saves resources and possibly lowering the price for consumers.

Dremel 6300-03 120-Volt Multi-Max Oscillating Kit Review

Got the tool for Christmas. Needed it for undercutting baseboard as well as cut aluminum from my front door frame to fit in my new front-door threshold. As some of the other folks in these reviews, the tool wood-cutting bit kept on coming loose. I was afraid of tightening it too much, but after it came loose again-and-again after about 5 minutes of use I decided to tighten it until could feel the motor turning. This time it did not come loose as easily but I am not sure how long it will handle this - so far so good. It does however still come loose when I hit a hard spot, like when I encounter a nail or when it touched the cement floor when cutting the baseboard or if you force it - let the tool do the work.
If you want a tool that you can force and use for hours on end, you need to consider another, and needless to say a considerably more expensive tool. It is good value for money, and if you - like me - undercut lots of baseboard manually with a jam saw before you got this tool, you will find this tool a great time-saver and an absolute pleasure to use.
Just as side note I have only used the wood and wood-metal bits and have not used it to cut pipes, grout, etc, just used it to cut a small notch out of an aluminum door frame and the baseboards. I did use it to trim the edge of a custom-cut laminate flooring piece as I was too lazy to use the circular saw and it burns the wood but it did manage to trim 1mm off of it none the less.
Pros: Lightweight, relatively inexpensive, easy to use, great time-saver over manually cutting door-jams.
Cons: Thick (solid-wood) stair jams (not sure what this is called, the wood trim on either side of my stairs that run all the way down the stairs and meet the concrete floor where I installed the laminate flooring and had to undercut the wood trim to slide the laminate underneath, about 2in thick solid wood) took a while to cut and burns the wood with smoke pouring out of the wood (probably other oscillating tools will do the same), the heat that comes from the tool after about 5 minutes of continuous cutting is excessive, the bit that comes loose again-and-again is my biggest concern as now that I tighten it real good (until I can feel the motor turning) am not sure how long it will last before something strips or breaks but since it still holds have to give it the benefit of the doubt, the casing it comes in is very cheap, the custom bits are expensive (like the sander).
